Ceasefire in the Yemen conflict

The Brazilian government welcomes Saudi Arabia’s initiative for a ceasefire, announced on March 22, aimed at resuming negotiations on a comprehensive political solution to the conflict in Yemen.

Brazil stands in solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the context of the attacks against civilian areas of its territory and calls on all those involved to observe the ceasefire and to refrain from actions that violate international law.

The Brazilian government reaffirms its support for the efforts of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Yemen to promote dialogue and to achieve a peaceful solution to the conflict.
