Canada opens its market for porcine gelatine and collagen exports

The Brazilian government welcomed the decision by Canada to authorize Brazilian exports of porcine gelatine and collagen to that market without the need for a health certificate.
Trade in agricultural products between Brazil and Canada has seen annual growth, thus reflecting the level of trust placed in the Brazilian health control system.
In 2023, Canada was the 28th largest destination for Brazilian agribusiness exports, which reached a total value of $1.05 billion.
This market opening is the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and Ministry of Livestock and Agriculture (MAPA), with the participation of the Brazilialn agribusiness sector.
