Brazil's Accession to the "Equal Rights Coalition"
On October 4, Brazil joined the "Equal Rights Coalition," an intergovernmental alliance of states committed to ending violence and discrimination against lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, intersex, and other gender identities and sexual orientations worldwide. With a historic record of promoting the rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals in international forums, Brazil advocates that the principle of equality and the fight against all forms of discrimination involve the full recognition of the human rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals.
The "Equal Rights Coalition" currently comprises 43 countries: Albania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Cape Verde, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Montenegro, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Ukraine, and Uruguay.
