Brazil’s humanitarian cooperation mission sent to Canada to help fight wildfires completed its operations on August 20, after 30 days of work.
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has ordered the mission in response to a request from the Canadian government. The Brazilian humanitarian mission was coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), and included 104 experts from the Ministry Environment and Climate Change (MMA); the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development (MIDR); the National Public Security Force (FNSP), the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP); and the military fire brigades of 20 Brazilian states and the Federal District.
