Brazil joins the International Transport Forum (ITF) at OECD as observer country

The International Transport Forum (ITF) at OECD has announced today, July 20, Brazil’s admission into the Forum as an observer country.

With 60 member countries, the ITF promotes research, discussions and sharing of experience in public policies related to all transport modes (railway, roadway, waterway, pipeline, and airway).

The observer country status will allow Brazil to take part in the Forum’s activities for one renewable two-year term. Within the ITF framework, Brazil will access best practices and international experiences in transport policies and will be able to share examples of successful public policies on the sector with other members. 

Even though it is not a formal requirement for accession to the OECD, the entry into the Forum further strengthens Brazil’s relationship with the Organization and is in line with the Brazilian government’s purpose of continuously improving its regulatory framework.
