The Brazilian government has learned with deep sorrow of another attack against the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) on January 25 in the country’s central region of Mopti.
Two “blue helmets” from Sri Lanka were killed and several others wounded in the attack. The Brazilian government reaffirms its strong condemnation of any and all acts of terrorism, regardless of their motivation. It also expresses its condolences to the families of the victims and to the Governments of Mali and Sri Lanka, and reiterates its support to the work of MINUSMA and the international community efforts to promote stabilization in Mali.
