Designation of the Permanent Representative of Brazil to the International Atomic Energy Agency

The Brazilian Government is pleased to inform the designation of Ambassador Claudia Vieira Santos as Permanent Representative of Brazil to the International Atomic Energy Agency, in Vienna.

This is the first appointment of Ambassador Claudia Vieira Santos to head a post abroad. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Santos holds the position of Director of the Energy Department, having also served as Director of the China Department in 2020-2023.

According to the Constitution, the appointment will be submitted to the Federal Senate for consideration.
