Appointment of Mathias Cormann as SG-OECD – Joint press release by the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Presidency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy

The Brazilian government congratulates Mathias Cormann on his appointment as OECD Secretary-General. Brazil looks forward to working with the OECD and Mr. Cormann at a moment that requires increasing collaboration within the international community.

The new Secretary-General can count on Brazil to support OECD’s fundamental values of democracy and market economy and to enhance its contribution towards sustainable development.

Brazil actively participates in multiple OECD work streams and is looking forward to starting its accession process as soon as possible.

The Brazilian government values OECD’s contribution to improving public policies and to enhancing international dialogue and cooperation, as well as the collaboration the OECD has developed with the G20 and other international organizations.
