Angola, South Korea, Mexico and the United Kigdom open new markets for Brazil

The Brazilian government welcomed recent sanitary approvals for the opening of markets in four countries, which reflects the international confidence in Brazil's  sanitary and phytosanitary control system.

The United Kingdom and Mexico have authorized the import of dried distillers grains (DDG) from Brazil, without the need for phytosanitary certification. This measure will help diversify the use of grain byproducts in the foreign market and boost the Brazilian biofuels industry.

Mexico has also authorized, without requiring phytosanitary certification from Brazil, the import of flour and pellets (compressed rations) of alfalfa hay and timothy hay for animal feed.

In addition, the health authorities of Angola, South Korea, Mexico and the United Kingdom have approved the import of dried clove flower and coconut fiber from Brazil. These openings will offer new opportunities for the spice and natural fiber sectors, which can benefit from the growing potential of construction and manufacturing industries in these countries.

With these authorizations, the Brazilian agribusiness sector reached its 138th market opening in 2024, totaling 216 openings since the beginning of 2023.

The openings are the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa).
