Agrément granted to the Ambassador of Brazil to the Republic of Guatemala
The Brazilian Government is pleased to inform that the Government of the Republic of Guatemala has granted its agrément to the appointment of Vera Cintia Alvarez as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil in that country. According to the Brazilian constitution, the appointment must still be confirmed by the Federal Senate.
Vera Cintia Alvarez joined the Brazilian Foreign Service in 1983. She has been posted at the embassies in Beijing, Dublin and Tokyo, and at the consulate general in Rome. In Brazil, she has held the positions of Executive Secretary of the National Commission for the 500th Anniversary of the Discovery of Brazil and Head of the Department for Multilateral Cultural Agreements. In addition, she has worked at the Cultural Department, the United Nations Division and the Cultural Promotion Division. She has been engaged in the creation and is the current head of the foreign ministry’s General Coordination for Sports Exchange and Cooperation.
