Agrément granted to Ambassador-designate of Brazil in the French Republic

The Brazilian government is pleased to announce that the government of the French Republic has granted its agrément to the appointment of Ambassador Ricardo Neiva Tavares as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil.

Ricardo Neiva Tavares was Ambassador of Brazil in Vienna (2016-2018), in Rome (2013-2016), and in the Brazilian mission to the European Union in Brussels (2008-2013). He had served at the Embassy in Paris between 1986 and 1989. In his latest position, he served as international advisor to the Presidency of the Federal Supreme Court.

According to the Constitution, this designation will be submitted to the Federal Senate for consideration.
