8th Meeting of the Brazil–Russia High-Level Cooperation Commission (CAN) – Brasília, February 5, 2026
The 8th Meeting of the Brazil–Russia High-Level Cooperation Commission (CAN) will take place in Brasília on February 5. The meeting will be co-chaired, on the Brazilian side, by the Vice President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin, and, on the Russian side, by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
CAN is the highest-level framework for intergovernmental dialogue between Brazil and Russia. One of its main objectives is to strengthen trade, both by boosting exchanges and by diversifying products. Topics addressed include those related to cooperation in energy, agriculture, science, technology and innovation, culture, among others.
The Russian delegation will comprise eight ministers, three deputy ministers, as well as heads of agencies. In the afternoon, Prime Minister Mishustin, together with Vice President Alckmin, will open the Brazil–Russia Business Forum, with the participation of numerous business leaders from both countries.
In 2025, Brazil–Russia trade reached $10.9 billion. Brazilian exports amounted to $1.5 billion, and Russian imports totaled $9.4 billion.
