PRESS RELEASE N. 584
500 openings of agricultural markets
The Brazilian government, through collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), has concluded sanitary negotiations to open the Guatemalan market to Brazilian beef exports, reaching a total of 500 market openings since the beginning of 2023.
This achievement is also the result of the diligent work of trade promotion and of agricultural sections of Itamaraty’s global network of diplomatic missions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs plays an important role in supporting the private sector by engaging with government agencies in different countries, promoting Brazilian agricultural and industrial products, and nurturing the image of national production for its excellence, quality and sustainability. In collaboration with MAPA and other government agencies, Itamaraty works directly on trade-promotion activities and efforts to open new markets, especially in countries where Brazil does not have agricultural attachés.
