20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks
On the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, which killed and wounded thousands of people, including three Brazilians, the Brazilian government renews its solidarity with the families of the victims, and with the people and the government of the United States of America.
Every act of terrorism is in itself an unjustifiable crime. Brazil reiterates its repudiation of any act of terrorism in all its forms and remains committed to working with the international community to fight this scourge and its causes.
During its eleventh term as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, in 2022-2023, Brazil will continue to work towards the prevention and the resolution of threats to international peace and security, including terrorism, in accordance with the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.
