Sunday in the Garden presents the Navegantes Choir on the 28th

The Navegantes Choir will be performing at Domingo no Jardim on the 28th. Created by vocalist, conductor and musical director Alain Pierre, a member of the Rio de Janeiro band A Barca do Sol, formed in the 1970s, the vocal group is made up of 12 singers. The performance will be accompanied by guitar, keyboard and percussion.

The songs are specially arranged for the three-voice group. The repertoire includes songs from various genres - MPB, choro, ballads, rock and reggae - such as Ovelha negra (Rita Lee), Disparada (Geraldo Vandré and Theo Barros), Eu não sou daqui (Ataulfo Alves and Wilson Batista), O que é, o que é (Gonzaguinha), Rua Ramalhete (Tavito and Ney Azambuja), Saiba (Arnaldo Antunes and Nando Reis), among others.

Navegantes is made up of sopranos Carlota Rios, Esther Barki, Luisa Mundstock, Mariah Tramontani and Ruth Ebel, contraltos Celina Pougy, Déborah Souza, Eliana Rodrigues and Thelma Brandão, baritones Alain Pierre, Gabriel Ruiz, Jorge de Castro and Marcelo Gonçalves, with special participation by Bernardo Quadros on percussion. Vocal preparation is by Gabriel Ruiz and musical direction by Alain Pierre.

The performance takes place in front of the bust of Dom João, in the arboretum, at 11 a.m. and is free of charge. Visitors only pay the entrance fee to the arboretum. In the event of rain, the performance will be moved to the Galpão das Artes.
