Rodriguésia welcomes new section editors from Asia

Rodriguésia—Journal of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden— now has three new section editors, all from Asian research institutions. 

The new section editor for Taxonomy and Systematics of Ferns and Lycophytes, Dr. Diego Tavares Vasques, is affiliated with the Department of Science at the University of Tokyo (Japan) and received his academic training at the same university, where he earned his Ph.D. in 2017. Throughout his career, he has been actively dedicated to academic research, teaching, and service to the scientific community.

Dr. Vasques joined the Department of Science at the University of Tokyo in 2023 and currently holds the position of assistant professor and curator of the TI herbarium. In addition to his institutional responsibilities, he has participated in various academic and collaborative activities.

Dr. Saraj Bahadur is the new section editor for Plant Taxonomy, Phylogeny, Systematics, Ecology, Species Diversity, and Conservation. He is affiliated with Hainan University, Haikou 570228, China, and received his academic training at the same institution, where he earned his Ph.D. in 2025. Throughout his career, he has been actively engaged in academic research, teaching, and service to the scientific community, while also participating in various academic and collaborative activities at his institution.

Dr. Vivek Yadav is taking over the Agricultural Genomics and Biotechnology division, with a focus on horticultural crops. Affiliated with the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Dr. Yadav received his academic training at Northwest A&F University in China, where he earned his Ph.D. in 2022. Dr. Yadav joined the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2023 and currently serves as an Associate Researcher. His research expertise focuses on multi-omic approaches in horticultural crops and biotic stress, contributing significantly to the understanding of plant-pathogen interactions and crop breeding strategies.

Dr. Yadav has over 40 published works, accumulating more than 2,100 citations and an H-index of 20. He currently serves on the editorial board of several renowned journals, including the Journal of Crop Health, the New Zealand Journal of Crop and Horticulture, and the Archives of Phytopathology and Plant Protection.
