Rodriguésia announces the publication of the dossier "João Barbosa Rodrigues - lore and practices"

The dossier is published at a time when it is urgent to bring national science to the forefront, from a democratic and sovereign perspective.

Presenting papers written by researchers from different areas, it is an invitation to reflect on what Barbosa Rodrigues wrote and how historiography updates and reinforces explanations about his work.

The diversity of topics covered in the publication, as well as João Barbosa Rodrigues' own work on the knowledge of Brazilian flora, are not exhausted in this dossier, serving as a starting point for understanding a botanist who lived between the Empire and the Republic.
