Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden welcomes delegation from Tanzania
On August 22, the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden welcomed members of a delegation from Tanzania, who are in Rio on an exchange program covering various areas, such as preparing the country to host the African Cup of Nations.
The delegation was formed by Fatma Mabrouk Khamis, Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Development (appointed by the President of Zanzibar as Leader of Cooperation with Rio de Janeiro), Juma Burhan, Director of the Zanzibar Economic Empowerment Agency (ZEEA), and Anna Mghamba, Minister of Full Potential.
The representatives were welcomed at the JBRJ Visitor Center and took a guided tour of the Botanical Garden Museum, Casa Pacheco Leão, the Environmental Education Service (SEA), and the Arboretum, accompanied by the coordinator of Coleção Viva, Marcus Nadruz.
The program also included a visit to the Herbarium, where the group was welcomed by the director of Scientific Research, Leonardo Salgado, and then met with the president of the JBRJ, Sergio Besserman Viana.
