Rio Botanical Garden opens selection process for free courses aimed at public school students
Through the João Carlos Silva Social and Environmental Responsibility Center (CRS), the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden Research Institute (JBRJ) has launched Notice 2026.1 for the selection process for complementary training courses aimed at public school students.
Registration will be open from February 23 to March 6, 2026, and can be done online or in person at the CRS headquarters in the Jardim Botânico neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro.
The selection process includes openings for the following courses:
Florescer Project
- Environmental Agent
- Ecotourism Agent
- Administrative Assistant
- Gardening
Scientific Initiation Project in High School
- Scientific Initiation – EM
Young people between the ages of 15 and 18 (by the start of activities) who are enrolled in public schools and attending the 9th grade of elementary school or the 1st or 2nd year of high school, with a monthly per capita family income of up to 1.5 minimum wages, are eligible to participate. The projects offer theoretical and practical activities, formative experiences, participation in workshops and events, as well as educational assistance and meals on site.
The selection process will take place between March 16 and 20, 2026, with the final results expected on March 31, 2026.
Calls for enrollment will occur according to the availability of places, with activities expected to begin in July 2026.
