On March 26 and 27, the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden Research Institute participated in the 18th Federative Caravan, held at Caminho Niemeyer in Niterói, serving officials from various municipalities in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The caravan is an initiative organized by the Secretariat of Institutional Relations of the Presidency of the Republic through the Special Secretariat for Federal Affairs, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the federal government, the states, and the municipalities, promoting assistance, guidance, and democratized access to public programs and services through the integrated efforts of ministries and other federal agencies.
The JBRJ team, led by Cabinet Chief Luciana Lancellotti, also included Paulo Victor Almeida, Carlos Henrique, and Andrea Neves (Office of Strategic Affairs) and Glaucia Caldas, who met with the officials at the booth set up for the MMA, ICMBio, Ibama, and JBRJ.
Requests were received for technical and school visits to the Garden, for the donation of seedlings for planting in Conservation Units (UCs), and for flora research in municipal Conservation Units as well.
