Holidays at the Botanical Garden Museum feature participation from the Moleque Mateiro Institute on weekends
The Botanical Garden Museum inaugurates its holiday program this Friday (12/12), marked by the arrival of the Moleque Mateiro program, which will take place every weekend—Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays—throughout the month of December. Organized by the Moleque Mateiro Institute of Environmental Education (IMM), the activities transform the Museum's gardens into a vast territory of discovery, through games, trails, play, and workshops that encourage affectionate and curious contact with nature. The program invites children to play freely, explore their senses, and engage in recreational activities that promote socialization and group integration.
Among the highlights of the holiday program is also the special edition of Semear, with As Pirilampas, a sensory activity aimed at babies from 0 to 3 years old, which promotes closeness to nature through stories, textures, aromas, and songs. The month's agenda also includes several “Art and Nature” workshops—such as floral arrangements, clay flowers, and botanical printing—in addition to the traditional “Botanical Games” and Garden Games, which encourage creativity and autonomy amid the landscapes of the Arboretum.
The public can also participate in educational tours that cover different areas of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden, such as the Atlantic Forest Trail, the Arboretum, and the Sensory Garden, bringing children, families, and babies closer to Brazilian biodiversity and the research carried out by the institution.
The Botanical Garden Museum reinforces its commitment to offering experiences that unite science, art, culture, and nature, celebrating the holidays with activities that spark imagination, enchantment, and care for the environment from childhood.
