To celebrate Children's Day, the Botanical Garden Museum is holding a special edition of “De Flor em Flor” (From Flower to Flower) on October 11 and 12. A hit during the holidays, the event returns with a series of free activities that transform the gardens and spaces of the Museum into a large territory of discovery and fun in the midst of nature.
The program includes guided tours, art and science workshops, and educational games designed to spark children's curiosity about the botanical universe in a lighthearted and creative way. The activities are open to the public and participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
On Saturday (October 11), the public can participate in the “Botanical Games,” which present Brazilian species and biomes in a playful way; the “Art and Nature” workshops, with an emphasis on making shuttlecocks with natural elements; and the “Flowers of My Garden” workshop, dedicated to observing and drawing the flowers of the Botanical Garden.
On Sunday (October 12), the day will be dedicated to games inspired by the traditional cultures of the Atlantic Forest, musical and sensory experiences with the Lekolé group, the investigative activity “In search of the lost tree,” and the playful visit “Flying Rivers,” inspired by the work of Ailton Krenak, which invites children to imagine the invisible paths of water in the Amazon sky.
In addition to the special program, the public can explore the Museum's exhibitions and installations, such as “Copa, Casa, Cosmos” (Cup, House, Cosmos) by Estevão Ciavatta, narrated by Regina Casé, which offers a poetic immersion in the Amazonian sumaúma tree (Ceiba pentandra). Another highlight is the exhibition “Atlantic Forest: infinite charms,” which combines art and science to reveal the richness of this biome and reinforce the importance of biodiversity conservation.
