The Endangered Species Trail is the Friday Trails attraction in March. On the guided walk, visitors will be able to see specimens of Brazilian plant species that are at risk of disappearing and are therefore the target of conservation actions.
Among the 17 species featured are the pink cedar (Cedrela odorata), the jacarandá-caviúna (Dalbergia nigra), the pink jequitibá (Cariniana legalis), much exploited for its wood, the Brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa) and the juçara palm (Euterpe edulis), among others.
Departures will be on March 7, 14 and 28, always at 10am.
Meeting point: Visitor Center. No prior booking is necessary.
The trail is free and there is only an entrance fee for the arboretum.
