Domingo no Jardim presents guitarist Miltinho Edilberto and puppet theater
Musician and composer Miltinho Edilberto is the headliner at Domingo no Jardim on May 25. Edilberto is considered by critics to be one of the most complete viola players in the country. From the traditional viola caipira, which has established him as one of the genre's leading players, to forró pé-de-serra, as well as workshops and presentations on Brazilian folklore, Miltinho has been preserving the country's roots with research and creativity.
After taking the Brazilian viola to seven European countries - Germany, Spain, France, Holland, England, Switzerland and Portugal - Miltinho Edilberto tours Brazil in various formats, reviving traditions and innovating the scene with his virtuoso viola.
Miltinho has performed alongside Almir Sater, Dominguinhos, Rolando Boldrin, Renato Teixeira, Beth Carvalho and others. He has been recorded by Maria Bethânia, Maria Gadu and Sergio Reis, among others. He has composed tracks for soap operas such as “O Clone” and programs such as “Globo Repórter”.
The performance will take place at 11am, in front of the bust of Dom João, and is free of charge. Visitors only pay for entry to the arboretum. In the event of rain, it will be transferred to the Galpão das Artes.
