Darwin Week at the Botanical Garden Museum celebrates science, evolution and biodiversity
The Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden invites the public to Darwin Week, a special program at the Botanical Garden Museum in honor of the scientist who transformed our understanding of the origin of species. From February 13 to 18, visitors of all ages will be able to take part in activities that unite science, art and education, recalling Charles Darwin's visit to Rio de Janeiro in 1832, including his visit to the Garden and walks through the Atlantic Forest.
The agenda includes educational visits, workshops, interactive games and a chat with biologist and science communicator Pirula, covering topics such as evolution, biodiversity and mass extinctions. Darwin Week provides a unique opportunity to explore the naturalist's ideas and their relevance to nature conservation. All activities are free of charge, subject to capacity.
