Casa Pacheco Leão hosts recital by Duo Ceccato e Béchemin and tea ceremony

This Saturday (28/6), Casa Pacheco Leão will host the Ceccato and Béchemin Duo, made up of flutist Sofia Ceccato and French bassoonist Simon Béchemin. The concert brings together the unique combination of the delicacy of the flute and the warm depth of the bassoon. The repertoire includes works by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Johann Sebastian Bach, Pixinguinha, Chiquinha Gonzaga and others.

The Ceccato and Béchemin Duo was born out of an emotional initiative during the pandemic, when the couple of musicians started giving concerts from the balcony of the apartment where they live in Rio de Janeiro, with the aim of bringing encouragement to neighbors in social isolation. The initiative turned into an artistic project, which today tours stages and cultural venues with a repertoire that ranges from classical to popular.

Duo Ceccato e Béchemin's performance is free of charge and will take place in two sessions, at 11am and 3pm.

On the previous day, Friday (27/6), there will be a “Tea Ceremony”, which will show how tea is prepared according to Chinese tradition. The public will be able to taste the drink. The ceremony will be presented by teacher Li Lu and accompanied by music by teacher Gao Chunhan, who will play the Chinese string instrument pipa.

The event is free and takes place once a month, always on the last Friday, in two sessions, at 11am and 3pm. There are only 20 participants at each time slot. Tickets can be obtained at jbrj.eleventickets.com
