Brazilian instrumental music at Sunday in the Garden
Brazilian instrumental music is the highlight of Domingo no Jardim on the 16th. The duo formed by violeiro Marcelo Lopes and Ramon Araújo, on seven-string guitar, will present original arrangements of works by our great composers. The concert will take place at 11am, in front of the bust of Dom João, and is free of charge. Visitors only pay admission to the arboretum. In the event of rain, it will be moved to the Galpão das Artes.
Marcelo Lopes, who holds a doctorate in music from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and is a researcher of our musical traditions, has performed in European countries such as France and England. Ramon Araújo has a bachelor's degree in guitar from UFRJ and has performed and recorded with Paulinho da Viola, Teresa Cristina and Moacyr Luz, among others.
