Ad Hoc Trio brings a varied repertoire to Domingo no Jardim on September 21
Visitors to the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden will be treated to an eclectic performance at the September 21 edition of Domingo no Jardim (Sunday in the Garden) at 11 a.m. The Ad Hoc Trio, formed by guitarists Luiz Otávio Braga and Marcos Farina and singer Danilo Fiani, will pay tribute to Ângela Ro Ro with classics by Arthur Piazolla and Albeniz.
“Gota de Sangue” (Ângela Ro Ro), “Samba do Grande Amor” (Chico Buarque), ‘Decepção’ (Nelson Sargento), and “O Ciúme” (Caetano Veloso) are the songs chosen to open the show, sung by Danilo Fiani. The performance then continues with a varied selection from the guitar repertoire, with works by Rovira, Astor Piazzolla, Albeniz, Iradier, Marcos Farina, Radamés Gnattali, João Pernambuco, Lennon and McCartney, Duda Anizio, and Nicanor Teixeira, among others.
Singer, guitarist, and composer Danilo Fiani began his professional career performing Beatles songs, gaining international recognition. He played with Erasmo Carlos and is the lead singer of Flores Astrais, a tribute band to Secos & Molhados, where he plays the role of Ney Matogrosso. He is also a singer in the Rollando Stones tribute band and performs solo shows dedicated to the work of Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and English artist Cat Stevens. He has released five singles on digital platforms. His latest single, entitled “A Solidão,” was released in May of this year.
Marcos Farina trained in music at the Pro-Arte Music Seminars in Rio de Janeiro between the late 1970s and early 1980s. He perfected his skills with Turíbio Santos, Jodacil Damaceno, and Leo Soares, having participated in several international classical music festivals in Brazil. He performed professionally for 20 years with the choro group Galo Preto, with which he gave concerts in Brazil, Mexico, Sweden, and Portugal. He also recorded with composers Elton Medeiros and Nelson Sargento, among others. In recent years, he has devoted himself to composing pieces for solo guitar.
Luiz Otávio Braga is a composer, guitarist, and arranger. He has worked with various artists such as Camerata, Radamés Gnattali, Elizeth Cardoso, Chico Buarque, Nara Leão, Nana Caymmi, Paulo Moura, Abel Ferreira, the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra, and the San Antonio Orchestra (Texas, USA). He has been responsible for the cycle of Instrumental Choro Workshops in Brazil since 1984 and is the author of the books O Violão Brasileiro (ed.
