“Taiguara, your dream is not over” with Rubens Kurin and Leandro Braga on Sunday in the Garden
“Taiguara, teu sonho não acabou” is the tribute show to the author of ‘Universo no teu corpo’, with Rubens Kurin and Leandro Braga, on the 23rd, at Domingo no Jardim. The show includes only compositions by the singer-songwriter Taiguara, who had love, in all its different forms, as one of the main themes of his songs. On the itinerary are “Universo no teu corpo”, “Teu Sonho não acabou”, “Hoje”, “Que as crianças cantem livres”, “Viagem”, “O cavaleiro da esperança” and others.
A singer and songwriter from São Paulo, based in Rio de Janeiro, Rubens Kurin has released three albums, “Palavras sutis”, “Antes do próximo” and “Uns são comuns, outros felizes”, the latter featuring Ney Matogrosso. The author of soundtracks for theater, he acted as interpreter and musical director in the show “De tudo se faz canção”, with Cia Jovem Dançar a Vida, with songs by Milton Nascimento, as well as taking part in other special projects, such as the CD Cancioneiro Geral Vol.1, in which various artists interpret Belchior.
Composer, pianist and arranger Leandro Braga has recorded with many names in Brazilian music, including Beth Carvalho, Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Simone, Djavan, Tim Maia, Fátima Guedes, Emílio Santiago, Elba Ramalho, Guinga, Leny Andrade, Fafá de Belém and Adriana Calcanhoto. With Ney Matogrosso, he acted as musical director, arranger and pianist in several of his concerts and CDs. His discography includes the albums “Pé na cozinha”, “Primeira-dama” - in which he does an instrumental reading of Dona Ivone Lara's work - and “Fé cega”, a tribute to Milton Nascimento.
The performance will take place at 11am, in front of the bust of Dom João, and is free of charge. Visitors only pay admission to the arboretum. In the event of rain, it will be moved to the Galpão das Artes.
