“Sunday in the Garden” features the Santoro Duo
Composed of cellist brothers Paulo and Ricardo, the Santoro Duo is the featured act at Domingo no Jardim on May 24. Recognized as one of the most critically acclaimed chamber ensembles in the country, the Duo presents an eclectic repertoire in its recitals, ranging from classical to popular music.
Natives of Rio de Janeiro, twins Paulo and Ricardo Santoro have been active on the music scene for over 30 years. They have been members of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra since 1986 and the Symphony Orchestra of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro since 1989.
With four albums released, the Duo has performed in various cities in Brazil and abroad, including a recital at Carnegie Hall in New York. Throughout their career, the musicians have shared the stage with major names in Brazilian popular music (MPB) such as Sivuca, Maria Bethânia, and Gilberto Gil, in addition to participating in recordings by artists like Guilherme Arantes, Simone, Almir Sater, Roberto Carlos, among others.
The performance at the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden will take place in the area in front of the bust of Dom João at 11 a.m. The show is free; only the admission fee to the arboretum applies. In case of rain, the performance will be moved to the Galpão das Artes.

Foreign visitors: R$ 80.00
Children 5 and under are free. Residents of Brazil over 60, people with disabilities, students, and others are eligible for half-price admission and pay R$ 20.00.
