CADE launches consultation to update Code of Ethics
The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) launched a public consultation to receive contributions to update the agency’s Code of Ethics for government officials. The document is available for contributions until 16 June.
The Code establishes the principles, values, and standards of conduct that guide the actions of all public officials who provide services to CADE. Its content supplements the obligations already set out by the Constitution of Brazil, non-constitutional legislation, and other rules applicable to public office.
Coordinated by the CECADE (CADE’s Ethics Committee) and approved by the Office of the President of CADE, the initiative aims to foster the collaborative drafting of the document, ensuring that the institution’s ethical guidelines embody the best practices of integrity, respect, and responsibility in the public service. It also enhances transparency and dialogue between CADE’s government officials and society.
The Code's draft version is available at the Participa + Brasil platform (in Portuguese only), and the contributions must be submitted there as well.
