CADE’s authorities attend OECD forum in Paris
In December, representatives of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) participated in the OECD Global Forum on Competition, the meetings of the Competition Committee, and other working groups.
Competition representatives, experts, and academics of the BIAC, the unit that brings together business entities in the OECD and the Organisation's Secretariat, which organises, systematises, and prepares documents to guide the discussions, were all part of the event.
The events addressed several topics, such as cross-border mergers, competition in the food supply chain, interaction between competition and democracy, use of structural assumptions in antitrust and competition, and regulation in the healthcare sector.
Mr Alexandre Cordeiro, president of CADE, emphasises that Brazil’s participation in the event is essential to straighten the country’s performance in a global scenario. “CADE’s presence in a forum that is so broad and diverse provides a favourable environment for enriching debates and exchanging experiences, based on evidence and international best practices,” he stated.
CADE is a member of the OECD Competition Committee since 2019, contributing with experience and written contributions to the most diverse topics on the agency’s agenda, while promoting a healthier and more competitive economic market in Brazil and around the world.
