Commissioner Victor Oliveira Fernandes’ article nominated for Concurrences award

The article "Brazil’s CADE Demonstrates How Antitrust Authorities Can Pursue Sustainability Goals”, written by Commissioner Victor Oliveira Fernandes, is one of the finalists in the Best Business Articles selection, Americas, in the Antitrust Writing Awards 2024, carried out by the law journal Concurrences. 

The study, published in Promarket in August 2023, debates how antitrust scholars and authorities can and should align with green sustainability initiatives. The publication contains CADE’s ruling to launch a commercial platform for agricultural commodity traders to track global supply chain sustainability metrics, presenting a case study on how to advance sustainability goals without compromising competition. Click here to read the article. 

Antitrust Writing Awards

The Antitrust Writing Awards is promoted by the French law journal “Concurrences”. It underscores the most innovative initiatives in several categories linked to competition advocacy and antitrust law compliance. Winners will be announced at the Antitrust Writing Awards Ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, on the eve of the ABA Antitrust Spring Meeting, in Washington, D.C.
