CADE updates its Case Law Search Tool

The new version of the Case Law Search Tool is now available on the website of the Administrative Council for Economic Defence (CADE). In addition to an updated layout, this new version of the tool adds the categories “Decisions of the Brazilian Court of Accounts” and “Regulatory Agencies” to the search tab, which already provided the categories “Decided Cases”, “Expert Opinions”, “Guides and Other Publications”, “Legislation”, and “News”.

In the “Decisions of the Brazilian Court of Accounts” category, it is possible to search for decisions of the Brazilian supreme courts, such as the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), as well as cases heard by the Brazilian Court of Accounts (TCU), federal regional courts, and state courts with matters that are relevant to CADE.  The “Regulatory Agencies” category provides documents that are related to the defence of competition and regulated markets. 

The possibility of an advanced search for cease and desist agreements (TCC) and administrative procedures to investigate mergers and acquisitions (APAC) is another improvement of the tool, which also has versions in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, in addition to sharing each document via Whatsapp, Telegram, and e-mail.

Now, the tool allows you to refine your search using “and”, “or”, “no”, “prox”, and “double quote” operators. To see a description of how to use the operators, hover the mouse over each option. 

Another new feature of the updated version of the tool is related to the usability and accessibility, which have been carefully redesigned to improve user experience.
