Antitrust authority releases new version of CADE in Figures
On 27 May, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) released the new version of the dashboard “CADE in Figures”, a transparency tool designed to publish statistical data on the agency’s performance.
The platform had a major visual and functional redesign, focused on improving the user experience, increasing interactivity, and enhancing navigability. New features include a mobile version to optimise access on smartphones and tablets, as well as a guided tour to help users navigate the panel.
“CADE in Figures” has two main sections. The first gathers information on decided cases, which are organised into thematic tabs focused on the agency’s core activities, such as mergers, administrative procedures, administrative enquiries, administrative proceedings, administrative procedure to impose incidental procedural sanctions, preliminary enquiries, cease and desist agreements, appeals, besides amounts of fines and financial contributions imposed.
The second section addresses Tribunal’s pending cases, enabling users to track the distribution and progress of ongoing cases.
In addition, the dashboard provides statistics and detailed information, including parties involved, conducts under investigation, relevant dates, National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE) codes, and fines imposed, amongst other data of public interest.
Data quality
The consolidation and effectiveness of the dashboard depend directly on the quality of the data provided by the Brazilian Electronic Information System (SEI). Therefore, it is essential that CADE keeps its information complete and updated, ensuring the consistency, reliability, and usefulness of the tool to society.
CADE in Figures is available for public access here.
