CADE releases new edition of Revista de Defesa da Concorrência
On 10 December, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) released a new edition of the Revista de Defesa da Concorrência (RDC). The issue gathers studies on the diversity and complexity of contemporary debates in the field of competition, with discussions ranging from law to economics, technology, and public policies.
The journal features a series of articles covering essential topics on the current competitive scenarios, including a study by Professor Alba Ribera Martínez on interoperability and digital regulation under the Digital Markets Act. Other texts also discuss the relationship between sustainability and antitrust policies, the implementation of Virtual Power Plants in the electric power sector, the effects of regulation on publicly traded companies, the challenges raised by the growth of digital platforms and their impact on the formulation of competition policies.
There are also empirical and normative analyses that deepen debates on anticompetitive conduct and regulatory frameworks, including an ex post evaluation of the LPG cartel, the role of digital privacy in merger control, the applicability of leniency agreements in specific money laundering cases, and the challenges of accountability in scenarios involving algorithmic pricing. Thus, the collection highlights the methodological and thematic diversity that characterises the RDC’s work.
As it closes the 2025 editorial year, the journal also celebrates structural advances that strengthen its governance and expand its capacity for scientific dissemination. The Open Journal Systems (OJS) update modernised the editorial workflows, improved information security, and increased process transparency. Furthermore, it strengthened the RDC alignment with practices recommended by the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES), and by the international editorial management.
Another significant advance was the complete digitisation of the Revista de Direito Econômico (1995–2002) printed editions, an initiative that preserves the authority's institutional memory, and expands public access to the agency's historical collection. This project, developed as partnership with CADE’s Library, continues to expand, and reaffirms the institution's commitment to promoting and preserving its technical and scientific works.

IBICT Diamond Journal Certificate
On November, the RDC received the Diamond Journal Certificate of Miguilim, an important directory of scientific journals from the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT). The certification is awarded to journals that achieve high standards of editorial quality, open access, and good open science practices. The recognition reaffirms the publication's credibility, highlighting the commitment to transparency, qualified peer review, open licences, and digital preservation.
In addition, it emphasises the collective effort that support the journal’s trajectory and reinforces the agency’s institutional mission to promote knowledge about competition, bringing society closer to debate on the matter.
