CADE raises its rating up to A2 classification in CAPES’ evaluation
CADE’s Revista de Defesa da Concorrência (RDC) recently achieved a significant increase in the Qualis system ranking. On 12 January, the partial results of the CAPES' quadrennial evaluation were released, for the period from 2021 to 2024, and showed that the RDC had raised its level of quality and prestige, moving from A3 to A2 status.
Qualis Periódicos is a Brazilian system which evaluates scientific journals, managed by the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES), classifying the intellectual output of postgraduate programmes into eight grades, in descending order of quality, which are: A1 (the highest), A2, A3, A4, B1, B2, B3, B4, and, in some cases, C.
Victor Fernandes, editor-in-chief of the RDC, says that the result is a great satisfaction for everyone involved in the production of the scientific journal. “This progress is an important recognition of the dedicated and committed work of the authority’s entire editorial team, reviewers, and authors who trust the journal, as well as the academic excellence and scientific relevance that the publication has been consolidating over the last few years,” he stated.
