CADE publishes agenda for public hearing on competition in liquid fuels market

On 13 November, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) will hold a public hearing to debate competition issues in the liquid fuels sector. The event will be held at CADE, in Brasilia, and livestreamed at the agency’s YouTube channel.

The hearing aims to further investigate potential barriers to competition in this market, which is considered essential for the Brazilian economy and consumer welfare. The meeting will gather experts, academics, representatives of regulatory bodies, consumer associations, members of civil society, as well as companies involved in fuel production, refining, distribution, and retail. The contributions will be used as input to improve market monitoring and guide the agency's decisions.

Interested parties may register for oral presentations until 17 October by sending an email to audienciacombustiveis@cade.gov.br. Written contributions can also be submitted until 24 October.
