CADE pays tribute to Prosecutor Ubiratan Cazetta for his 30-year career
On 10 June, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) paid tribute to Prosecutor Ubiratan Cazetta for his 30-year career as a member of the Federal Prosecution Services (MPF), during the Tribunal’s session.
Commissioner Jose Levi highlighted the Prosecutor’s persistence, resilience, and dedication throughout his career. “You are a source of pride for Pará, the MPF, and CADE. It is a great pleasure to have the opportunity to pay tribute to you at this momentous occasion, and I hope you will continue to contribute to strengthening the Federal Prosecution Services and promoting the common good in our society,” he stated.
During the homage, Mr Cazetta received a commemorative plaque from André Freire, Chief Prosecutor of the Office of the Attorney General at CADE (PFE), in recognition to his years of dedicated service to the public sector and defence of the legal system.
In his speech, he described the occasion as a career milestone. “These 30 years have allowed me to look back with a sense of perspective and realise that, even though I have not been perfect, I have strived to fight for what I believe in and foster an atmosphere of open dialogue. Furthermore, working at CADE today is a source of great pride for me”, he concluded.
Professional Background
Member of the Federal Prosecution Services (MPF) since 1996, Prosecutor Cazetta started working at CADE in May 2025. During his career, he held positions as Head of the Legal Advisory Unit for Class Actions at the Office of the Attorney General of Brazil, from 2013 to 2017, and also worked as President of the National Association of Federal Prosecutors (ANPR) from 2021 to 2023 and 2023 to 2025.
He holds a law degree from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a master’s degree in human rights from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). Currently, he also works as a professor at the School of the Brazilian Federal Prosecution Services (ESMPU).
