CADE is one of the co-chairs of the ICN Cartels Working Group

The Administrative Council for Economic Defense – CADE will be one of the co-chairs of the International Competition Network (ICN) Cartels Working Group (CWG). As of June 2017, CADE jointly with the South African and the European competition authorities will co-chair the CWG until 2020.

During its leadership, CADE aims to share with others ICN’s members its expertise on the fight against cartels, the establishment and use of the leniency program, the experience with the initiation and analysis of cases and in the  implementation of rules, among others. CADE’s aspiration is to bring more diversity and contribute to the information exchange between the authorities of the group.

The CWG is responsible for coordinating ICN’s activities about the theme, including the recommendation of best practices, the definition of priority issues and the execution of projects in general.

The International Competition Network is an organization that provides competition authorities with a specialized yet informal venue for maintaining regular contacts and addressing practical competition concerns, promoting the international cooperation regarding competition defense. Its role is fundamental – the exchange of procedures and work techniques allows a more efficient and effective fighting against the anticompetitive practices worldwide, benefiting consumers and the economy as a whole.
