CADE hosts Workshop on regulation of digital platforms
On 15 May, Professor Jean Tirole, winner of the 2014 Nobel Prize in Economics, discusses his most recent research on digital platforms and the working paper “Fair Gatekeeping in Digital Ecosystems”.
Mr Jean Tirole is the honorary president of the Toulouse School of Economics, considered one of the most influential economists of our time for having made fundamental theoretical contributions in various branches of economics, focused on the study of oligopoly markets.
In recognition for these contributions, Mr Tirole received the Nobel Prize for his analysis of market power and regulation, which influenced how governments and authorities deal with big economic agents, an increasingly relevant topic in the era of digital transformation.
The Workshop is a special edition of the seminar “Economics & Competition Defence”, organised by the Department of Economic Studies (DEE) of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), aiming to promote discussions among experts and academics of different fields of expertise related to competition defence and economic regulation.
In addition, the seminars corroborate institutional improvement, and the dissemination of antitrust policy, especially on competition advocacy matters. This edition is a partnership with CADE’s International Unit (ASINT).
The event will be live streamed via Zoom, and the link will be available after registration. Certificates will be issued to all participants after the event.
