CADE holds farewell ceremony for President Gustavo Augusto
Presidential handover will be live-streamed on YouTube On 8 April, the Tribunal of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) will hold a ceremony in honour of President Gustavo Augusto, marking his last session as head of the agency. The event will take place prior to the hearing of 5 cases, and will gather antitrust authorities, politicians, as well as attorneys, and will be live streamed on CADE’s YouTube Channel.
Mr Augusto is a member of the Tribunal since 2022, and became President of the authority in July 2025. His term was marked by firm actions in strategic markets, institutional strengthening, and international prominence. Among the most notable initiatives was the prioritisation of the liquid fuel market in the new institutional framework, aimed at monitoring and fighting against anticompetitive practices in the sector. In addition, he also worked to further discussions on competition in digital markets with other public entities, including the Brazilian Congress.
