CADE extends time limit to review the acquisition of Linx by Stone

The Tribunal of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense ratified this Wednesday (26 May) an order that extends the time limit to review the acquisition of Linx by Stone (aka STNE Participações) for 90 days.

The transaction was reported to CADE in August 2020. Law 12529/2011 establishes that the authority must complete the review of all mergers and acquisitions within 240 days. However, this time limit may be extended for 90 days as long as the Tribunal provides a reasoned justification for it.

The case was postponed in the previous Tribunal session which happened on 12 May. Thus, the case is included on the agenda of the next session, scheduled for 16 June, as per the provisions of the Statutes of CADE. With the postponement, the Tribunal now has until July to adjudicate the case.
