CADE discusses competition in mobile ecosystems
On 19 February, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) will hold a public hearing to debate competition matters of digital ecosystems related to operational systems for mobile devices, such as iOS, from Apple, and Android from Google. The event will be held at CADE, in Brasilia, and livestreamed at the agency’s YouTube channel.
The public hearing aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of possible barriers to competition and other issues involving these digital ecosystems. CADE also conducts investigations on digital platforms, like Google Android, Google Play Store, and Apple Store.
The discussion gives civil society, specialists, and economic agents the opportunity to enrich the debate regarding digital ecosystems, which can help the antitrust authority’s future decision making.
The event is open to the public and oral or written contributions should be submitted until 12 February 2025.
Applicants must send their personal data to submit contributions and, in case of an oral contribution, the submission of the topic is required. Applications must be sent to audienciapublica@cade.gov.br.
