CADE attends 25th ICN Annual Conference
The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) takes part in the 25th International Competition Network (ICN) Annual Conference, which is held in Manila, Philippines, from 6 to 8 May. The ICN Conference gathers competition authorities from different jurisdictions to discuss trends, challenges, and strategies for promoting a global convergence in the competition matters, and providing an independent and specialised forum on this subject for competitive markets.
During the conference, Diogo Thomson, Interim President of CADE, Commissioner Camila Alves, and Bruno Renzetti, Head of Office of Commissioner Carlos Jacques’s office, are to speak and participate in the working groups, representing Brazil in technical discussions on current antitrust issues.
In this edition, the event addresses some points such as new market dynamics, enforcement strategies, regulatory innovation, as well as emerging challenges faced by competition defence authorities in different economic contexts.
In addition, CADE's participation reinforces Brazil’s active role in the ICN. The agency is a member of the Steering Group and co-chairs the Unilateral Conduct Working Group, contributing to the development of best practices, and international recommendations in the antitrust field.
Alongside the official agenda, bilateral meetings are planned with representatives from other countries, with the aim of strengthening international cooperation, just as exchanging experiences.
