CADE attends 2026 Antitrust Spring Meeting
From 25 to 27 March, authorities from the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) take part in the 2026 Antitrust Spring Meeting, held in Washington, D.C.
The event is annually fostered by the American Bar Association (ABA), gathering professionals and representatives from different countries, in addition to academics, economists, public authorities, lawyers, and law students to discuss global trends, as well as challenges in competition policy.
Nearly 4,000 participants from around 70 countries attended the 2025 edition, reinforcing it's status as one of the leading international forums to exchange experiences in the antitrust field.
Gustavo Augusto, President of CADE, is to join the panel “Competition Law and Politics in LATAM” to discuss recent changes to competition laws in Latin America, and the growing role of political factors in the formulation and enforcement of antitrust policies in the region.
Furthermore, Commissioner Carlos Jacques is one of the speakers on the panel “Enforcers Update: Cartels”, focused on debating current challenges to detect and fight against cartels.
The discussion will address, among other topics, the growing use of algorithms, artificial intelligence, and digital tools in collusive practices, as well as the strategies adopted by the authorities to improve the investigation and prevention of such conduct.
In addition, the institutional agenda also includes the participation of CADE's representatives in side events related to competition policy, thereby increasing international exchange on strategic matters relevant to the agency's work.
