André Freire honoured after two years of service as chief federal attorney at CADE
On 1 July, André Freire, former chief federal attorney at CADE, was honoured by the commissioners for the two years of service in the agency.
Mr Freire received a commemorative plaque for his dedication in the last hearing session, which he participated as the head of the Specialised Federal Attorney’s Office (PFE) at CADE.
Diogo Thomson, interim president at CADE, commended Mr Freire’s work: “This is not a ‘goodbye’, it is a ‘see you soon’!We hope that he can join us again and start his second mandate. In the course of two years, he devoted himself to the role and was able to accomplish so much that it does not feel like he has been here only for two years”, he stated.
In the name of the Federal Prosecution Services at CADE, Prosecutor Ubiratan Cazetta highlighted that the moment was not a farewell, but a show of support to a possible reappointment of André Freire to the office.“In addition to the warmth and camaraderie, Mr Freire’s presence and openness to dialogue have given us confidence in a decision-making environment that is not always easy. Until your reappointment comes through, you can continue to count on our support. Congratulations on these two years here.”
André Freire expressed his gratitude mentioning that he sees his two-year term with a great sense of satisfaction for being able to accomplish his mission at the PFE well. "Working at CADE requires carefully balancing economic interests while never losing sight of our core mission: safeguarding consumer welfare within a multifaceted institution. It is also a privilege to help shape decisions with a significant impact on the country and to work alongside people who are genuinely committed to being part of the institution and ensuring its success," he stated.
