In Manaus, international seminar will discuss the impacts of 5G on education and industry

Event brings together, on the 22nd, experts and authorities in panels that also address the challenges of connecting remote locations

In Manaus, international seminar will discuss the impacts of 5G on education and industry

Discuss the benefits of connectivity and the arrival of the fifth generation of mobile internet in Brazil, in addition to presenting the perspectives of the technological evolution in the Amazon region. This is the the Ministry of Communication’s (MCom) goal in promoting the third edition of the 5G.BR Seminar, on September 22nd, in Manaus (AM). Specialists and authorities will participate in the event at Vasco Vasques Convention Center, starting at 9 am. The opening will be attended by the Minister of Communications, Fábio Faria. The President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, is also expected to participate.

Led by the CEO and editor-in-chief of MIT Technology Review Brazil, André Miceli, the first panel will address the impacts of 5G on Education. The Minister of Education, Victor Godoy Veiga, the president of the Center for Research and Development in Telecommunications (CPQD), Sebastião Sahão Júnior, member of the Board of Directors of the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), Vicente Aquino, and partner and one of the founders of Grupo Datora, Tomas Fuchs, are already confirmed.

The theme of the second round of debates will be:”5G as an accelerator of 4.0 industry". Ailton Santos, Nokia CEO in Brazil; Javier Lizarraga, representing Samsung; Edson Alvim Toffoli, Positivo representative, and Antônio Silva, from the Federation of Industries of the State of Amazonas (FIEAM), will participate in the panel. The president of the Manaus Free Zone Superintendence (Suframa), General Algacir Polsin, will be responsible for leading the debate.

Afterwards, the CEO of FS Security, Alberto Leite, the Product Director of the Management and Operational Center of the Amazon Protection System (CENSIPAM), Hélcio Vieira Júnior, and the Commander of the 1st Battalion of Communications and Electronic Warfare of the Forest (Comando of the Amazon), Wallace Paysan Gomes, discuss technology as an instrument for the protection and development of the nation. The Minister of the Environment, Joaquim Leite, is expected to participate in this panel.

To conclude the seminar, we will welcome the special guest and Keynote Speaker (main spokesperson) of the 5G.BR Manaus Seminar, SpaceX CEO Gwynne Shotwell. She will speak with Minister Fábio Faria and with the Minister of Communications of Israel, Yoaz Hendel. The theme will be low-orbit satellite connectivity and the advantages of this service.

5G.BR SEMINARS – Manaus is the third capital to host the 5G.BR seminar, promoted by the Ministry of Communications (MCom). São Paulo (SP) and Natal (RN) have already held the event. Porto Alegre (RS) and Brasília (DF) will be the next cities to host the seminar.
