Institutional

The Ministry of Communications is a federal administration body created with the aim of strengthening the areas of national telecommunications and broadcasting policy, as well as postal services, telecommunications and broadcasting.

Furthermore, the Ministry is charged with operating the Federal Government's communication and publicity policy. It also looks after the relationship between the Federal Government and the regional, national and international press, summons mandatory radio and television networks, works on public opinion surveys and with the Brazilian public television system.


THE MINISTER

José Juscelino dos Santos Rezende Filho is a doctor, specialized in radiology, and a federal deputy re-elected by the state of Maranhão, in 2022, for his 3rd term.

In the Chamber of Deputies, Juscelino Filho chaired the Ethics Council in 2019 and 2020. He was the rapporteur for the 2022 Budget Guidelines Law (LDO). He chaired the Committee on Social Security and Family (CSSF) and the Special Committee on Health Technological Innovation (Cetecsau).

He participated in several parliamentary fronts related to the Communications sector, such as the Defense of Brazilian Cinema and Audiovisual, and the Parliamentary Front Against Piracy. He also advocated for digital health policies. Another proposal reported by the representative from Maranhão was the one that updated and modernized the Traffic Code.

Assumed office as Minister of Communications: 1/1/2023.






Ombudsman Office

The Ombudsman's Office of the Ministry of Communications assists anyone interested in making a statement (request, suggestion, complaint, allegation, irregularity report or using the simplifique platform) whether for the external or internal audience. The service is provided by the Integrated Ombudsman and Access to Information Platform – Fala.BR (falabr.cgu.gov.br), by post, by telephone (61) 2027-5555 or in person.
