The Observatory of the National Policy on Tobacco Control aims to gather, organize and make available updated information and knowledge on the implementation of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control in Brazil.

WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) is the first treaty negotiated under the auspices of the World Health Organization.
The National Commission for FCTC Implementation in Brazil (Conicq) The National Commission for FCTC Implementation is responsible to propose, implement, consolidate and evaluate the measures for FCTC implementation.
Data and smoking numbers Data about prevalence, diseases, mortality, costs, tobacco production and exportation and per capita consumption.

The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control is the first international public health treaty in history and aims to contain the worldwide tobacco epidemic. When Brazil ratified the treaty in 2005, its national implementation gained the status of State Policy and compliance with its measures and guidelines became a legal obligation of the Government of Brazil.
